Wednesday weather: temperature drop and northerly winds

Alongside the winds in the Aegean, the NMS forecast mentions local rainfall in three areas of western Greece: western Epirus, western Thessaly and western Peloponnese. These are areas which, due to their geographic position facing the Ionian Sea and their mountainous terrain, experience local rainfall phenomena more frequently compared to the eastern country, even on days when the general weather pattern remains clear across most of the territory. The difference between the lower morning temperatures, from 15 to 23 degrees, and the higher midday temperatures, from 29 to 33 degrees, indicates a temperature range that remains relatively broad, characteristic of days with clear skies and reduced cloud cover.

The TA NEA report explicitly refers to a temperature drop compared to previous days, without however providing the exact values that were recorded previously, nor specifying how long the northerly winds phenomenon in the Aegean will last. It is also not clarified whether sailing bans for small vessels have already been issued by local port authorities, something that usually follows wind intensities of this magnitude, nor which specific ferry routes may be affected.
