Thessaly Evros Pass 2026: applications until 28 September

The application platform for the Thessaly Evros Pass 2026 program is open, with the competent authorities announcing that the application submission deadline is completed on Monday 28 September 2026. The program provides for the granting of tourist vouchers valued from 200 to 250 euros to eligible recipients who wish to travel to areas affected by floods and wildfires in recent times.

The Thessaly Evros Pass is part of the logic of supporting domestic tourism in areas affected by natural disasters, with the aim of strengthening the local economy through increased tourist traffic outside the main summer period. The name of the program refers to both Thessaly and Evros, areas that have been tested in recent years by intense weather phenomena and large-scale wildfires, with significant impacts on infrastructure, crops, and local businesses that depend on tourism. The range of voucher values, from 200 to 250 euros, was designed to cover part of the cost of accommodation or travel for eligible recipients to the affected areas, indirectly encouraging visitability outside the peak of the tourist season.

The ability to submit an application concerns residents who meet the program’s criteria and wish to visit these areas, while contributing to the recovery of the local tourism market and the support of catering, accommodation and transport businesses in the affected areas. The deadline on 28 September means that interested parties have a limited time frame to complete their electronic application, if they wish to claim the voucher before the platform closes. Similar tourist voucher programs have been implemented in other areas of the country, such as the “Tourism for All” program, whose lottery results were announced earlier this year, as well as the voucher program for disabled persons and the elderly in the Peloponnese, which follows similar logic of supporting vulnerable groups through tourism subsidies.

After the deadline on 28 September, the competent authorities are expected to proceed with processing the applications and approving eligible recipients, so that vouchers are available for use within the prescribed deadlines of the program. Interested parties are urged to complete their application promptly through the electronic platform in order to avoid any delays in light of the deadline, as the large volume of applications in the days before the deadline may slow down the submission process. The program concerns residents of the Thessaly and Evros regions, that is, areas where economic activity is based to a significant extent on tourism and was significantly affected by the extreme weather phenomena of recent years, resulting in support through vouchers acquiring particular weight for the local economy of these areas.

Update 16:45: According to reports from Lifevolos and iFarsala on Thursday 24 September 2026, the program has 7,500 digital debit cards of 200 euros, beneficiaries are selected by lottery and distribution takes place in two phases, September–October and November–December. Applications close at midnight on Monday 28 September 2026. These two reports mention cards of 200 euros, while Naftemporiki had mentioned vouchers valued from 200 to 250 euros.
