Fuel: unleaded at 2.199 euros, most expensive in Cyclades

The national average price of unleaded 95-octane petrol stood at 2.199 euros per litre on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, according to average retail fuel price data published by the newspaper Ta Nea on 23 September 2026. The same data record 100-octane unleaded at 2.421 euros per litre, diesel at 2.227 euros per litre, and automotive LPG, known as Autogas, at 1.006 euros per litre. At the opposite end, the lowest average prices are found in Florina, at 2.152 euros, Serres, at 2.167 euros, and Imathia, at 2.168 euros. The gap between the most expensive and the cheapest regional unit thus exceeds 26 cents per litre for the same fuel.

The same data show that the Cyclades also record the highest average price for 100-octane unleaded, at 2.599 euros, as well as for diesel, at 2.397 euros. In the Dodecanese, 100-octane stands at 2.503 euros and diesel at 2.305 euros, while in Evrytania 100-octane reaches 2.513 euros and diesel 2.323 euros. In Attica, average prices are lower, with 95-octane at 2.181 euros, 100-octane at 2.423 euros, diesel at 2.212 euros, and Autogas at 0.980 euros. As the table shows, the highest average prices are recorded in island and mountainous regional units, while the lowest are in mainland areas of northern Greece.
