e-EFKA – DYPA: payments of €88.8m by 4 September

e-EFKA and DYPA plan, according to an announcement published on 29 August 2026, to pay a total of €88,816,664.80 to 116,143 beneficiaries in the period from 31 August to 4 September 2026. The payments concern a range of benefit categories, from advance pension payments to unemployment benefits and employment programmes, and are distributed across specific dates within the five-day period, as part of the regular payment scheduling of the two bodies, which publish in regular intervals detailed payment schedules per category of benefit.

On 31 August 2026, e-EFKA pays €2,556,664.80 to 6,993 beneficiaries, an amount concerning advance pension payments under Law 4778/2021 for the month of September 2026. On 3 September 2026 two separate payments are scheduled: €260,000 to 350 beneficiaries for out-of-institution benefits for TAUTEK, and €8,500,000 to 5,500 beneficiaries for refund of contributions for self-employed. On 4 September 2026 a payment of €11,500,000 to 21,500 beneficiaries follows, concerning benefits such as maternity allowance, funeral expenses and sickness and accident allowance. During the same period, from 31 August to 4 September 2026, e-EFKA pays an additional €17,000,000 to 800 beneficiaries, in continuation of decisions concerning lump-sum benefits.

On its part, DYPA plans to pay €28,000,000 to 46,000 unemployment benefit recipients and other benefits, as well as €2,000,000 to 17,000 mothers for subsidized maternity leave. In addition, €19,000,000 is directed to 18,000 beneficiaries in the context of subsidized employment programmes. These scheduled payments, like other state interventions in the Greek economy, concern a broad spectrum of beneficiaries, from pensioners to the unemployed, new mothers and participants in employment programmes, and have immediate significance for the household budget of those awaiting the specific amounts in early September, a period of increased expenses for many households due to the return to school and work routine.

e-EFKA and DYPA have not disclosed to the public a detailed breakdown of the amounts by region or by insurance fund, nor have they announced the payment schedule for the period after 4 September 2026. It has not been clarified whether payments will be completed within the scheduled dates for all beneficiaries, nor whether a unified notification system is foreseen in case of delays. The two bodies have not provided information on any additional benefit categories that may be added to the payment programme in the following weeks, as the announcement of 29 August concerns exclusively the current five-day period and does not include an advance notice for the rest of September. The publication of detailed payment calendars is a practice regularly followed by the two bodies, so that beneficiaries know in advance when the amounts they are due are expected to be credited.
