e-EFKA and DYPA: 1.2 Billion Euros to 1,745,738 Beneficiaries until 2 October

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security announced the detailed “map” of payments that will be made by e-EFKA and DYPA from 28 September to 2 October 2026. According to the announcement, “During the period 28 September to 2 October, 1,208,786,298.6 euros will be paid to 1,745,738 beneficiaries.” The announcement concerns exclusively payments by the Electronic National Social Insurance Organization (e-EFKA) and the Public Employment Service (DYPA), without including other social protection bodies. The amount concerns a total of five payment categories from e-EFKA and three from DYPA, which cover pensions, advance payments, lump-sum benefits, unemployment allowances and employment programmes. This is part of the regular payment schedule that the ministry publishes so that beneficiaries know in advance when the amounts are expected to be credited to their accounts.

The largest part of the amount concerns the main and supplementary pensions for October, totalling 1,123,486,298.60 euros, which will be paid on 29 September 2026 to 1,649,038 pensioners. On 30 September is scheduled the payment of 2,500,000 euros to 7,000 beneficiaries as advance pension under Law 4778/2021, as well as 2,500,000 euros to 1,600 beneficiaries for refunds of contributions of the non-employed. On 2 October e-EFKA will pay 300,000 euros to 350 beneficiaries of non-institutional benefits, while for the entire period from 28 September to 2 October payment is scheduled of 15,000,000 euros to 1,100 beneficiaries of lump-sum benefits.

In parallel, DYPA will channel 65,000,000 euros into the market during the same period. The largest budget, 32,000,000 euros, concerns unemployment benefits and related allowances to 53,000 beneficiaries. This is followed by an amount of 21,000,000 euros directed to 20,000 beneficiaries of subsidised employment programmes, while 12,000,000 euros will be paid to 14,000 mothers receiving subsidised parental leave. These three DYPA payment categories are addressed to both unemployed persons receiving regular allowances and working mothers and beneficiaries of active employment programmes, covering different groups of the labour force.

Beneficiaries do not need to take any action, as payments are credited to the bank accounts they have declared to e-EFKA and DYPA. The Ministry of Labour continues to publish on a weekly basis the detailed payment schedule, a practice that is part of the broader effort for greater transparency in the economy. The publication of the detailed schedule on a weekly basis provides the opportunity for pensioners, the unemployed and other beneficiaries to plan their financial obligations with greater security. The next announcement is expected to concern the payment schedule for the period that follows, while parallel support interventions for households and vulnerable groups remain on the agenda of social policy.
